My two loves

I just love this picture of Bob holding Grace, I could look at it all day! It was not staged, I was out in the back yard lurking around with my camera hoping to get a good action shot of whippets running or a nice bird by the pond, and I turned around to see this ...

Bob is not a 'dog person' really. But he has come alongside me in all aspects of raising, caring for, and even showing the whippets when I'm in a pinch. And he has grown to love them as I do. You can see it in his face when he talks to them, cares for them, and invites the young ones to jump in his arms like Gracie. They say as a couple grows old together they become more alike. After twenty plus years together I can see that there is some truth to that. Even so, I know how blessed I am to have a partner who has encouraged me to chase my dreams and still supports me every step of the way!

It's no secret around here that I have a real soft spot for Grace too. I developed a blood imbalance when her litter were small and needed to lie down frequently. While the rest of the litter ripped around as puppies do, that little sweetheart never left my side. Thankfully I was able to get my health back on track, but my bond with Gracie was set.

I love all my dogs and my family so very much. No one's life is perfect, but this picture reminds me that I have an awful lot to be thankful for!
