Venus is the result of a long anticipated breeding between Vixen and Magnus, and we couldn't be more pleased with her! She has the shape and movement we love and a sweet calm temperament to match. She's received a lot of appreciation in the show ring already, winning Best Baby Puppy In Show the very first time she was shown and finishing her Championship in two show weekends in the regular classes.
Venus had an amazing summer at the specialties, being awarded Best Puppy In Show at the All Hound Club of Ontario Specialty under David Miller, Best In Sweepstakes at the AWC Midwest Specialty under Raymond Johnson, Winner's bitch at AWC Midwest supported entry under Sami Hirko, Winner's Bitch at the Canadian National Specialty under Christie Nelson, and Select Bitch and Best Puppy In Specialty Show in a stellar lineup at the Ontario Sighthound Association Specialty under judge Espen Engh.
Venus Fun Facts: Venus is an agouti whippet, which is a somewhat unusual color in this breed. She has the appearance of being fawn with black shading, but each individual hair is actually banded. As a puppy she had a distinct black V shape on her forehead, which inspired one very sweet judge to refer to her as a little butterfly :) Her overall color pattern changes all the time as she looses coat and grows new hair.
