Venus is the result of a long-anticipated breeding between Vixen and Magnus, and we couldn't be more pleased with her! She has the shape and movement we love, and a sweet calm temperament to match.
Venus had an amazing ring debut, winning Best Baby Puppy In Show the very first time she was shown and finishing her Championship in two show weekends in the regular classes. She was honoured with a number of specialty wins in Canada and the US as well, including Best Puppy In Show at the All Hound Club of Ontario Specialty, Best In Sweepstakes at the AWC Midwest Specialty, Winner's bitch at the AWC Midwest supported entry under Sami Hirko, Best of Winners at the AWC Midwest supported under Michael Canalizo, Winner's Bitch at the Canadian National Specialty, Select Bitch and Best Puppy In Specialty Show in a stellar lineup at the Ontario Sighthound Association Specialty and a huge Best In Specialty Show win at the Lower Mainland Whippet Association Specialty.
Venus is much more than the sum of her show wins though; she is my shadow, loving and nurturing like her dam and clever and loyal like her sire, and brings together both of my foundation lines and so many special dogs close to my heart.
Venus Fun Facts: Venus is an agouti whippet, which is a somewhat unusual color in this breed. She has the appearance of being fawn with black shading, but each individual hair is actually banded. As a puppy she had a distinct black V shape on her forehead, which inspired one very sweet judge to refer to her as a little butterfly :)
