NSBIS BVIS AmCh. GrCh. Forgetmenot My Lil Angel

"Minnie"

Pedigree Link

Minnie came to us from Forgetmenot Whippets.  Her dam Missy (Forgetmenot Miss Take) was Best of Winners at the Canadian National Whippet Specialty in 2012 under Bo Bengston, and her sire Ashton (GrCh. Plumcreek I'm a New Yorker) has multiple Specialty awards and numerous top placing offspring.  I will be forever grateful to Minnie's breeder and co-owner Joanne Boudreault for sharing this stunning girl with us.  She is not only beautiful but incredibly clever and  the source of a lot of joy and laughter in our home!

Minnie finished her Canadian Championship with several Best of Breed and Group placements from the classes, and won two Best in Sweeps, a Specialty Reserve Winners, and a 5-point major in her first two US show weekends.  Minnie went on to win RWB at the US National Specialty show over 153 class females for another major, finished her American Championship with a second 5-point major at the US Mid-West Specialty supported entry, and went on to easily earn her Canadian Grand Championship. In addition to her wonderful show accomplishments, Minnie was a fantastic attentive mother who continues to influence our breeding program through her beautiful kids and grand kids.

We still show Minnie occasionally in the Veteran classes and she loves it as much as ever.  She was Best Veteran at the 2022 AWC Mid-West and North Central specialties, won an all-breed Best Veteran In Show in 2023 and had the incredible honor of being named 2023  Canadian National Specialty Best In Show from the veteran class at 8 years of age under Christy Nelson.

Minnie Fun Facts:  Minnie is the most skilled hunter in our house.  She will sometimes come in from the pasture with a thin tail hanging out of her mouth and proudly present us with moles.  If we call the dogs in and Minnie doesn’t come, it’s generally because she’s guarding a rabbit.  Thankfully most of them know well enough to stay out of our yard!
