Jake is a son of our beautiful Thalia (Forgetmenot Leap of Faith), out of her first litter sired by Plumcreek Whippets handsome Romeo (Ch. Plumcreek Going Big Time JC).
Jake finished his Canadian Championship at 13 months of age by winning Best of Winners at a Whippet Club of Eastern Canada specialty. He earned his American Championship with 4 majors all awarded in stiff competition under whippet or hound specialist judges, all from the Bred By Exhibitor class and handled by me, which was no small feat at the time.
Jake was one of the first dogs I ever showed myself and was a wonderful partner to learn with. He is a focused, confident, intelligent dog and a natural showman. His independent, but loyal and willing personality made him a joy to live with and a lot of fun to take showing or coursing! Jake is a dog who needs a job though and seemed sad once we were no longer showing him. Fate stepped in and connected us with a family with an autistic daughter that Jake immediately gravitated to, and we knew what his next job would be.
Jake's family send regular updates and photos and It makes me so happy to see him full of purpose and loving life again!
